NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan, recently, met with the Speaker of the South Ossetia self-proclaimed republic Anatoly Bibilov, which raised serious discontents in Georgia.
Today, at the debate on the topic “Armenia Ahead of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga”, Aravot.am inquired from the President of Yerevan Press Club Boris Navasardyan that many people associate the meeting between Anatoly Bibilov and Galust Sahakyan with Russia, so whether it could be an instruction from the Kremlin, he replied, “I do not think that Russia played a special role there. Simply, unfortunately, the RA officials continue making every effort to win the heart of Russia instead of protecting the interests of Armenia, in the relations with Russia. We understand that there are effects, there is dependence and there are connections. This is impossible to deny. But in these conditions, when Armenia’s interests are neglected, the representatives of RA authorities should first think about how to win the heart and what else to yield, but rather how to protect the interests of our people.”
According to Boris Navasardyan, as the South Ossetia is recognized by Russian, perhaps, the South Ossetia representatives have connections with the Kremlin. “So, if given person is on the Armenian land, we should certainly have showed our attention and our attention to him.”
