Recently, the “Nairi” consortium and the American University of Armenia organized a lecture-meeting with the renowned songwriter and architect Arthur Meschian entitled “Policy Architecture and Political Architecture” theme.
During the meeting, which lasted about 3 hours, Meschian spoke on various subjects, ranging from culture up to the politics, also recalling the years of Vano Siradeghyan’s city municipality when he was the chief architect.
“I had the misfortune to be the chief architect of Yerevan … Once, Vano gave me a call when they wanted to sell the lands of the North Avenue without any project, without anything … I told the mayor, “This is not allowed. How can you allocate land in the core center of the city without a general project?” Vano said, “You do not allow the guys to make money”, and they went away. Then something happened and the project was there, but I do not want to talk about this subject, because everyone knows about it better than me, I will keep silent on this subject.”
