Defense Ministry spokesman opines that Azerbaijan has used the next opportunity
Azerbaijan has submitted a 47-page document to the UN Security Council, which lists the charges brought up against Armenian side. As reported from the Azerbaijani side, the Armenian side has violated the ceasefire on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and in the contact line of armed forces of Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh for more than 1200 times in March. According to the document, as a result of the ceasefire violation, 9 Azerbaijani soldiers were injured and 4 were killed during March. This was released by the “Voice of America”. The Armenian side, represented by Deputy Ambassador Hrachya Tashchian, considered this kind of move by Azerbaijan a provocation and slander. In the interview with “Aravot”, Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan noted that he has nothing to say about the Azerbaijan’s behavior, he only repeated the recent statement made by Deputy Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan, which refers to the principle of maintaining ceasefire on our side. “We will continue maintaining the ceasefire regime especially during the period when Baku is hosting the championship games.”
Mr. Hovhannisyan opines that there should be no reason for Azerbaijan to behave like this. It uses every international opportunity to carry out provocative actions. Defense Ministry spokesman, referring to the 47-page document on violation of the ceasefire by the Armenian side, said that it cannot play a major role for the international community, in addition, such facts require serious mechanisms for examination and investigation. “Otherwise, everything is unserious.” Mr. Hovhannisyan noted that the Defense Ministry always prepares a statistics about the ceasefire regime violations by the Azerbaijani side and submits them to the international community, if necessary, it will submit one in the near future. “Actually, there is no need to submit. Azerbaijan should exert great efforts to concoct something, while we do not need to exert great efforts to show it. The, do not forget that Azerbaijan is taking footages of its aggression and shows them on its websites, sometimes forgetting that such situations occur later. It falls into euphoria, and tries to gain dividends in the eyes of its people, but it shows its aggression, then, of course, it tries to delete them from the websites, but it becomes already too late,” said Mr. Hovhannisyan.
