The ethnic minorities in Armenia are planning to send a message to the UN member countries to condemn the 1915 Armenian Genocide and not to endanger the future of the world. The message was signed by 18 organizations from 11 communities.
Chairman of the Committee coordinating the culture of eleven ethnic minorities in Armenia, a representative of Assyrian community, Honored artist of the Republic of Armenia, Razmik Khosroev, in the interview with Aravot.am, referring to the genocides, particularly their message on the Armenian Genocide recognition and condemnation, strongly emphasized its importance. “In these days when the entire progressive mankind adopts laws and decisions condemning the 1915 Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey, the ethnic minorities living in Armenia could not but be a part of all of this, not only because they are also citizens of Armenia, but because many of those nations have appeared in Armenia because of the genocide, I mean the Assyrians, Greeks, Yezidis, and some of the Kurds. A few days ago, we spent a very wonderful evening at the “Arno Babajanyan” concert hall where all the ethnic minorities remembered and condemned not only the Armenian Genocide, but also for all the genocides, which resulted in their presence in Armenia. During the whole evening, like a strip, the topics of the Armenian genocide, the WW II, the genocide of the Jews, the current situation of the Christians in the East, the massacres of Yezidis and Assyrians, levelling the ancient values of the west by Islamist forces to the ground were touched upon…
The sense of the whole evening was that it is time to stop the war, because every war is a genocide, regardless of what objectives and major beliefs the wars serve, anyway, there is no higher value than a man. This evening generated the idea of addressing the world diplomats, the UN Member States. The advice of the message is that the ethnic minorities living in Armenia with the sense of responsibility appeal to everyone to prevent wars. The message contains also subtexts that refer to Turkey’s condemnation and intolerance.
The message is addressed to all UN member states to condemn the 1915 genocide and to avoid endangering the future of the world,” said Razmik Khosroev.
