Who does actually intimidate Russia?

June 25,2015 14:19

The threat from the “Islamic state” becomes more and more tangible

Recently, the Head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, used a pretty tough tone for answering Russian President Vladimir Putin (whose “subordinate” seems to be he), when the latter is expressing his discontent with quite “free actions” of militants in Chechnya. “Moscow has commenced a dangerous game instructing me on how I should rule the country.” By saying a “country”, he refers, perhaps, to Chechnya, which legally is a part of Russia. “The statements that we have heard from President Putin confirm the behavior that Russia manifests a rather long time recently, – said Kadyrov, – Putin’s such militant rhetoric is unjustified, dangerous and plays a destabilizing role. It is a state treason,” concluded Kadyrov according to the HTB.

Putin is unhappy that the assault feel overly free in Chechnya. And who is Kadyrov if not the head of one of the assault (clan) divisions? What is his cultural and civilizational difference from Maskhadov’s and Basayev’s, if we set aside the fact that today’s head of Chechnya represents another, enemy’s “tape”, clan? Do the laws of the Russian Federation function in Chechnya? Can any official coming from the “center”, including the law enforcement, carry out Moscow’s policy in this Republic? Doesn’t Kadyrov’s government have contacts with the groups representing radical Islam, including the so-called “caliphate”? Can’t these groups extend their influence throughout the Russian Caucasus region? The Russian leadership knows the answers to these questions, of course, better than I do. Simply, recently, the rumors have become more that the “Islamic state” is “interested” in the Caucasus, and I do not think that these rumors are unfounded. At the moment, Russia is in war with the West and with the latter’s favor enjoying Ukrainian “Jew-bendera-fascists”, as Russian advocators are presenting.

To the point, in this fight, Ramzan Kadyrov completely shares the Kremlin’s posture and expresses willingness to reach Kiev with Chechen battalion and contribute that the “Ukrainian patriots” evict all Americans from their land. Truly, there is a threat to Russia from the West. But the United States does not want and cannot destroy this country, they pursue the goal to weaken Russia economically and deprive Russia from the pretension of “superpower”, with the prospect to be the only one. But firstly, Europe’s most influential country, Germany, does not agree with this plan, secondly, Russia’s opponents cannot raise a rebellion in this country “for the sake of liberal values”, to which the majority of population in Russia, to put it mildly, is quite indifferent. Instead, the radical Islam can begin fighting against Moscow in the Muslim regions of the country, and Russia with its current economic potential is unlikely to be able to fight in two fronts: Ukraine and the Caucasus.

On the one hand, we have the US grants and the threat of peaceful protests in major cities, on the other hand, the armed militant groups. It is a matter of choice. What remains to the radical Islam, then it is certainly a threat to Central Asia and Azerbaijan. Hundreds of militants from our neighboring country are fighting for the “Islamic state”. What will they do when they return to Azerbaijan? And which is more dangerous for us: Aliyev’s corrupt dictatorship or the fanatical “caliphate” fighters?
