Head of the NA Republican faction, Vahram Baghdasaryan, in his interview with “Armenian Times”, has expressed his concern about how long Baghramyan Avenue can remain closed. Naturally, everybody perceived this question as a direct call to vacate the Avenue.
Lawyer To our observation that with this question the PRA member had a far-reaching objective, Karen Mezhlumyan replied, “First I would like to note that Baghramyan Avenue was blocked not by the protesters, but the police. I was in the rally from the very first day, and the protesters encountered the police wall in the Baghramyan Street blocking the street and they stopped (sat down). Hence, I think that the Avenue will remain closed until the police open the section blocked by them. As to why the PRA MP has talk about it, then I think, yes, it was not said just for nothing. Therefore, I emphasize, the street is blocked by the police. Let them open and see whether the protesters will open the street by continuing their march or not.”
