Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, Republican MP Hovhannes Sahakyan thanks the “No to Plunder” initiative members for the five-day national, nice and truthful fight. “For the first time the entire process of the rally was implemented exclusively accompanied by the singing and dancing and carries a peaceful nature. And importantly, all the decisions were made in collective efforts”, -said he in the interview with Aravot.am.
Note that yesterday in the evening, President Serzh Sargsyan announced that the government will incur the entire burden of the tariff increase until the independent audit results will be known shedding light on the events and further development of the steps. “At the moment, to say the least, the problem does not exist and realizing this, the organizers decided to continue the protest action at the Freedom Square,” said Hovhannes Sahakyan, adding that currently, what is happening in the Freedom square and in the Baghramyan Street are completely different processes. He believes that some youth in Baghramyan Street, forces and “disturbing politicians, whose handwriting we have repeatedly witnessed in recent months” are trying to use the chance to implement their long-cherished dream – “to lead Armenia to a mess and chaotic situation for warming up their hands on the fire kindled by others”.
In any case, he is sure that there are still people in Baghramyan Street with honest motives and if they still have the desire to continue the honest struggle until the desired result, Hovhannes Sahakyan calls on to join the guys gathered in the Freedom square. “The current chaotic situation in Baghramyan Street may come out of control and the effects may be irreversible and unpredictable,” he said.
The youth, who were in Baghramyan Avenue five days long and now in the Freedom Square, our interlocutor is sure that if the situation on the border, God forbid, worsens, they will go and defend the border of the Homeland from the enemy’s abuse with the same perseverance and as one man. “Singing and dancing with the police, playing football and sharing a glass of water should become a culture in our country, we are at this stage of democracy. In these five days, we have made three steps forward in democracy. Those who are trying to mess the situation pursue one goal – not to see Armenia as a democratic country. In addition, we are also a legal state,” said the MP representing the ruling political force, wishing us a high wisdom not to succumb to the provocations.
