The Armenian parliamentary delegation is currently in Helsinki, where the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly summer session is underway on July 5-9. This is an annual final session, which sums up the completed tasks and final documents are adopted. The OSCE Armenian Delegation opposition member, “Prosperous Armenia” faction, represented by MP Stepan Margaryan, in the conversation with Aravot.am, said that there are no specific issues on the agenda about Armenia, but there are issues that are associated with Armenia. “The quite many documents that are and will still be passed in this session omit the principle of self-determination, and the territorial integrity prevails. Now, we are trying to fight against them,” said our interlocutor.
To the question of whether the efforts of the Armenian delegates produce results, he responded, “It is very complex and the complexity is not only in discussing these issues.” As to what our interlocutor meant, so far he was reluctant to provide details. “When I return, we will talk.” The opposition members of the Armenian delegation are not planning to voice the issues like the protest in Armenia associated with the electricity price hike and the behave of the police on April 23 in this international platform. “This is not the international platform, this is not included in the functions of this platform, this is not similar to European Council, here, people discuss common security issues in the territory of OSCE,” said Stepan Margaryan.
