When the official explanation is missing

July 15,2015 11:57

The personnel policy in Armenia is not public. We do not know why and for what merits people are assigned to positions and why, for what sins they are dismissed. For instance, up to now, no official substantiations were voiced about why Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan was resigned. Officially, it is said that it was his desire, then, in this case, he personally should say why it is his desire. This “confidentiality” opens a wide spectrum for a variety of assumptions. Perhaps, you also remember that it provided a ground for the opposition to claim that the “regime” was very scared and went to concessions on this issue. Anyway, if the goal is to discharge the situation, then the government change has not resolved this issue.

It is absolutely and in no way substantiated why Surik Khachatryan has been appointed a Syunik Governor and why he continues to be in office, despite the information that regularly pops up after his reappointment. The opposition members say, “Liska serve the regime better.” But, you can find thousands of people in Armenia and particularly in Syunik who will similarly “serve will,” and there can be no problem here. Consequently, there is a different explanation as to why this person still holds his office and the so-called “outwears the government’s political resource.”

Dismissal of Justice Minister, Hovhannes Manukyan, from the office is also from the series of these mysteries. How he was working in that position, what mistakes, flaws, or maybe vice versa, achievements he made, no one is talking about it officially, and I guess – will never speak up. Instead, the commentators will voice various, including fantastic hypotheses for which I cannot blame the colleagues due to the absence of the official explanation. In these conditions, “Poghos Petrosyan, a minister of justice?” material, indeed, will bring several hundreds of views.

Purely in the media field, as far as I could observe, this minister was not causing aversion, he was restrained in his public speeches and interviews, he was not trying to make a fight with the MPs or the journalists. The culture of communicating with people normally is an indisputable merit, which seldom happens to our officials.

If the problem is purely political and the goal is to “open a space” for the Revolutionary Federation party, then it remains only to wish that the newly appointed minister would try borrowing Hovhannes Manukyan’s style.
