Gevorg Safaryan. “To say “No to Plunder” and to put the plunderers on our head and walk is not correct.”

July 15,2015 18:30

Member of the “Founding Parliament”, Gevorg Safaryan, who is an active participant in the still on-going protest against the electricity price hike, opines that the opposition MPs should lay down their mandates. Note that a few days ago, such a call was made by the member of “No to plunder” initiative, Vaghinak Shushanyan, urging the opposition MPs to lay down their mandates and fight alongside with the people. Gevorg Safaryan has his own explanation. “The MPs should lay down their mandates and the opportunity has nothing to do here. There is no legislative authority in our country. It is the RPA bureau and any MP who considers himself an opposition has nothing to do in the den of the Republican Party. This does not even need an opportunity. The opportunity is already there: we do not have an elected legislature. It would be a reasonable move by the opposition MPs. The MPs considering themselves an opposition, being there, they only legitimize this RPA rally”. Gevorg Safaryan has no information about when the next rally will take place.

Recall that during the rally held last Thursday, the youth announced that the next rally will be held this weekend and there were promises about giving specific names and demanding punishment. Gevorg Safaryan does not even know whether the coordination group is final or not. “Once it is final, there will be an announcement again.” We were curious to know which of the wings he supports: “No to Plunder” or “No to Plunderers.” “I am in favor of eliminating the reason. To say “No to Plunder” and put the plunderers on our heads and walk is not correct, it is an absurd because this plunderer will continue plundering in a variety of industries. Therefore, it is necessary to eliminate the reason.”
