“No to Plunder” alarm and the police explanation of why they visit the homes of the protestors

One of the members of “No to Plunder” initiatives, Davit Zakaryan, has alerted News.am that the police has visited his house, have confirmed his phone number, have call him and have demanded to go to the police stated without presenting a notice. Civic activist Emin Martirosyan also informed that 2 days ago, two police officers visited their home, confirmed his father’s phone number, have call and demanded to go to the police station without a notice.

In this regard, in the interview with Aravot.am, the Head of the Public Relations and Media Department of the Police, Ashot Aharonyan, explained that the police are planning to visit the protesters in the coming days with regard to the case of June 23.

As he said, “Under the case of June 23, the police have the right to carry out operational activities and fulfil the mentioned actions with an investigation. It is an operational investigation defined by the law.” He said that the police can visit houses on various matters and talk to the citizens who have participated in the June 23 protest.

Note that in connection of the events of June 23, a criminal case has been filed at the Investigation Committee.
