A large number of prestigious doctors live in Berlin

August 07,2015 15:49

Gyumri-born broadcaster Alisa Ghalachyan residing in Berlin for 13 years confirmed that only in the capital of Germany, there is a dozen well-known and respected Armenian doctors who have already opened their own clinics. “Of course, Armenians are doing a variety of job in Germany, but mostly Armenian intellectuals live in Berlin, who whatever job they take immediately become respected because they are hardworking, diligent and support the country to their utmost. I am living in Europe for 15 years in a row, I lived in Holland for two years, and then moved to Germany, and I have noticed that there has always been a flee from Armenia. It seemed to me they would not come to Germany because it is a bit harder to solve the residency in Germany than in other European countries, but recently the flow of refugees has been increased, and now, the Armenians living in Russia are moving to Europe.”

To our question that there is a large Turkish community in Germany, so whether there happen ethnic clashes between Armenians and Turks, our interlocutor said, “Of course, the Turks make a great number in Germany, only in Berlin perhaps there will be 8 million Turks, minor conflict always happen between Armenians and Turks. For example, with regard to the centenary of the Armenian Genocide, the entire Armenian community in Germany organized demonstrations in different cities. In Berlin, when we marched in front of the Reichstag with holding the Armenian flags high and dressed in Forget-Me-Not shirts, we saw that the Turks had organized a demonstration in the opposite side of the street shouting that it is a provocation, no Armenian Genocide has occurred. The police worked hard to avoid clashes, and thank God, there were no clashes, the police urged to change the way to avoid meeting the Turks and the conflicts. The Turks, at that time, were 2-3 times more than we, Armenians.” And as to why the Armenians living abroad neglect the Diaspora minister’s call and do not return to Armenia, this comes next in tomorrow’s “Aravot” press.
