Arsen Avetisyan who is the 51% shareholder of “Air Armenia” company spread out a statement that he has reconciled, as his wife earlier had stated, with Ruben Hayrapetyan who had ordered to beat Avetisyan. Avetisyan announced that this reconciliation stems from the air company’s interests not to impede the investments to the company.
Note that Avetisyan’s wife, Isabella Melkumyan, had announced that Hayrapetyan’s bodyguards had kidnapped her husband, and today, Avetisyan says that there was no kidnapping.
Aravot.am tried to talk to Avetisyan, but his phone is off, and the woman talking with us assured that her husband so far is unable to talk as they had come home from the hospital a short while ago. We asked a few questions to Mrs. Melkumyan. To our question of why she denies her statement that her husband was kidnapped, whether she spread out false information, especially since the lady in the conversation with “Aravot” newspaper had assured that her husband had told everything to her, “Hayrapetyan has pulled my husband’s arm, and the bodyguards had taken him to the side to beat, they were 8 of them kicking him.” There are video cameras let them watch it and everything will be clear.” Melkumyan said, “I was called and said they had seen him beat down, and several people had taken to a different place, and later they did not see him. I had no news from my husband for 1.5 hours, I am not a lawyer, maybe I used a wrong term.”
To our question of whether Avetisyan went to the mentioned other place voluntarily, Mrs. Melkumyan did not answer. To our question about what investment she was talking about and how they are endangered, whether the matter is about 68.6 million dollars securities of «East Prospect Fund», she said that a part of these securities were to be pledged to the bank and the money received in return were to be used for repayment of debts and re-operating of the company. The day before the beating, this investment was already made to the air company’s balance, so whether it was not a reason for Avetisyan to assure that he could use it for covering the debt, she said, “Another question arises with me. What was the connection of Hayrapetyan with this debt?”

To the question of whether Hayrapetyan has used pressure not to file a complaint to the law enforcement for this case, Melkumyan said, “No, on the contrary, the next day they came with an offer for reconciliation. Hayrapetyan did not come in person, but he had sent someone on behalf of him.” And whether there was a pressure from the «East Prospect Fund» saying that if there is reconciliation, then there would be a problem with the disposal of the securities and whether there were any talks between Avetisyan and the head of the air company owning the 49% share of «East Prospect Fund» on this matter, Avetisyan said, “You understood correctly, he has said that this issue should be resolved shortly, he has not urged to reconcile, but he has said to give a quick solution to the problem because everything may appear at stake. The money will come from Europe, if they had followed the domestic situation in the country, they would think whether it’s worth investing in or not.” During the telephone conversation with Melkumyan, the woman at times was clarifying the answers to some of our questions from Avetisian, who was beside her, but reasoning that he does not feel good, he refused to talk to us personally.
