On September 3, under the “Yerevan Perspectives” 16th international music festival, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by renowned conductor Zubin Mehta, will perform at the Al. Spendiarian Opera and Ballet Theater. Mehta was born in an Indian noble family. His father, Mehli Mehta, was a noted musician, violinist, and conductor.
Mehta junior had prepared the career of a doctor for him, but later he moved to Vienna, where he studied conducting with Hans Swarovski, at the same time, he learned to play the double bass and drums. Mehta is an honorary doctor of the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, and the Institute of Weismann, as well as an honorary citizen of Florence and Tel Aviv.
