Rouzan Vit assures that she will also welcome the audience from the stage

Rumors always evolve around an audacious artist that mostly have nothing to do with the original work. According to the information available to “Aravot”, the audacious actress Rouzan Vit, who had obtained a scandalous reputation – naked and nude, back in 2006, in the film “The Priestess” directed by Vigen Chaldranyan, recently made another courageous move, this time embodying a prostitute. During the meeting with “Aravot”, Rouzan Vit confirming the information available to us, only said that the matter is about Arshak Amirbekyan’s film “Mariam”, where she really starred in the role of a prostitute.

As for the screening of the film, the actress said that it in the phase of cutting which is also important. With regard to deserving the “title” of audacious, Rouzan said the following: “I’m not audacious but sincere. These are different things. Sincerity comes from my inner world, which is the power of my soul. It is this sincerity that protects me and leads me by the path predetermined for me from heaven. To the point, life had offered me much easier paths but looking into the eyes of the life, my inner person firmly holding my hand took me to the place where I am always free and happy.”

We reminded our interlocutor that 3-4 years ago, she wrote a script aimed against the prostitution. The actress said that in 2004, in France, she starred in Hiner Saleem’s film “Vodka Lemon”, again in the role of a prostitute. “When living and creating in France, I wrote the script of the film “The Colors”, which touches upon the topic of prostitution and selling the soul. So far, the hero of my script has accumulated millions by this selling of soul, by pushing the innocent girls to prostitution. I hope that one day this will become a film.

As for my character of a prostitute in the “Vodka Lemon” film (directed by Hiner Saleem), it emphasizes the tragedy of broken destinies. The heroine, Zine, who needs a parent’s affection has appeared in poverty, and the only way out she sees in the work of a prostitute… What? Didn’t you know that there was a time when this same prostitution was so common in our country? Don’t you know that the girls’ sale to the foreigners was done in front of our eyes? Yes, I write and star, and I repeat, I touch upon the topic of the tragedy of broken destinies,” said Rouzan Vit.

We asked our interlocutor to tell about her period in Paris. “When in Yerevan, I got acquainted with the film director Hiner Saleem and in 1996, I starred in “Beyond Our Dreams”, playing with such famous names as Élodie Bouchez, Jackie Nersisyan, Olivier Sitruk, Patrick Bouchitey and Anémone. The film director visited Armenia to shoot nature scenes for this movie. I must say that I have overcome my French in just 2 weeks. Then, I starred in “Vodka Lemon” film, before that in the movie “Loneliness” with famous actors Ivan Franek and Hanna Schygulla. Later, I was engaged in several French projects… All of this lasted 5 years. Frankly speaking, I had decided to have an interval, my inner person was saying that a new phase will begin, return to Armenia… And at that time, I received an invitation from Vigen Chaldranyan…,” presented the actress.

Rouzan Vit’s career path began in early 1990-ies, from the theater, still since the years of studying at the studio of renowned film director Zaven Tatintsyan at the Institute of Theatre and Cinema. The actress had played at the Youth Theatre, National theaters, and then worked at the Sundukyan National Academic Theatre. To our question of whether she has abandoned the theater once and for all, the actress “greedily” replied, “I have not abandoned theater. It has received a new form in me over these years, and I will meet the audience still from the stage of the theatre.”
