On September 17-19, Yerevan will host Yerevan Jazz Fest 2015, which the organizers want to make it traditional. “It is very gratifying that after a break of more than 7 years, the International Jazz Festival was made possible. I think that the program, which was carefully prepared by the organizers, will be interesting to the public,” said jazzman Levon Malkhasyan at a news conference with the journalist today. Jazz musician Armen Tutunjyan (Chico) hopes that this jazz festival will become traditional and will make positive changes in people’s music taste. “The jazz roots in Armenia are deep enough, but, unfortunately, low-quality music is still dominated in our country. Most importantly, also attempts are made to strengthen the place of high-quality music,” said the jazz musician. In these days of the festival, singer Erna Yuzbashyan is also in Armenia, who also believes that the continuity of the festival can have a very positive impact. “I wish such festivals be held every year. It is necessary to save the situation, it is necessary to make the musical taste better. Only thanks to such festivals and events, it would be possible to achieve results,” said the American resident singer. One of the guests of the festival, famous jazzman Hubert Tabs, believes that jazz music is for the black people, but at the same time, it is an improvised music, and each one can express what he feels with the help of jazz, regardless of the complexion. For musician Vahagn Hayrapetyan, Yerevan Jazz Fest 2015 is a celebration that brings famous and talented musicians together in Yerevan. “This festival is of interest to many people, but it speaks to the fact that there are people who love good music, there are and always will be,” noted the President of the Association of Armenian Jazz, Kamo Movsisyan and assured that the festival will not only be continual but will add the number of participants and the participating countries.
