The war was not over

September 28,2015 11:30

The “war resumed,” “This is already a war,” “War again,” we read these headlines in the Armenian media in recent days. They are not accurate. The war that had started in parallel with the collapse of the Soviet empire was not over a moment in order to say now that it has been “resumed” or “restarted”. Combat operations had active and passive phases, in recent days, they are becoming more and more active and, in my opinion, the dynamics of this active growth will maintain.

This does not mean that we, in addition to war, should not talk or think about anything. Political, economic, educational and cultural problems, nowadays, are still relevant. The media should continue operating freely, I am strongly against any limits on the pretext of the war. Yes, there are people who driven by the political interests of their group are engaged in fantastic “geopolitical” improvisations on the subject of was. But they should have this opportunity.

The political life should proceed as normal, the opposition should organize its rallies by the traditional demand of regime change, “crushing” speeches should be made in the parliament, the party members should keep on debating in the press clubs. Theaters and concert halls should keep going as normal. People should laugh, smile and joke.

Notwithstanding, we should take into account that we live in a continuing state of war, and this situation will continue for many years. Let everyone decide on itself how to contribute to his country’s security. And if someone thinks that he/she has nothing to do with this respect, it is also a posture.
