As we have already informed, the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) was launched in Strasbourg. Azerbaijan, again, used the chair of the Assembly for the anti-Armenian propaganda purposes. For example, Azeri delegation member to PACE, Rafael Huseynov, presented Armenia from the chair as an “occupant country”, announcing that the Armenian side is conducting excavations in the “occupied territories having no right for it” (referring to the ongoing excavations in Tigranakert – T.H.).
Aravot.am asked the member of the Armenian delegation to PACE, PAP MP Vahan Babayan that the Azerbaijani delegate to PACE called Armenia an occupant country, also voicing accusations against Armenia, so whether Armenian delegation is going to somehow respond to these accusations of the Azerbaijani delegate, and whether Armenia will present the situation in the border, especially when the ceasefire regime is violated by Azerbaijan itself, Mr. Babayan replied, “A few hours later I’m going to deliver a speech and I will address the border tensions from the PACE chair, as well as the ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan.” Back to the distortion of facts by Azerbaijan, Vahan Babayan noted, “They were always engaged in the same false practice and the distortion of facts is a state policy for them”.
