Famous quartet preferred rehearsals to press conference

On September 28, at the Peoplemeter Press Club, the press conference of the Borodin String Quartet members and cellist Alexander Chaushyan was canceled. Chief producer of National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, Arman Padaryan, told the reporters that the reason is the force majeure and the roots are creative. In his wording, the renowned Quartet had to cancel the press conference because of the rehearsals and to perform at the concert properly. Note that the Borodin Quartet was hosted by the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia under the 9th international festival launched in Yerevan on 10 September.

The festival is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Philharmonic and the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The concert, which will take place on September 30, the renowned cellist Alexander Chaushyan (Great Britain) will perform with the Borodin Quartet – the Schubert Cello Quintet. The concert will also feature Tchaikovsky Quartet No. 1 and Ruben Margaryan’s Epilogue for string quartet. The Borodin Quartet founded in 1945 currently includes members Ruben Aharonian (first violin), Sergey Lomovski (violin), Igor Naidin (viola) and Vladimir Balshin (cello). During its 70 years of existence, the quartet had more than 6000 concerts around the world.
