Obama and Putin “dialogued” in New York. Obama said that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is a tyrant, and Russia has seized the Crimea, and it deserves the sanctions, and Putin said that the United States has messed up the whole Middle East, in fact, arming the “Islamic state” and organized a military coup in Ukraine. As they say, they deserve each other, and in such cases, there are elements of truth in both sides’ accusations.
For me, frankly speaking, this “single combat” proceeding parallel to the Armenian debate is somewhat amazing, whose parties are involved in “pelting one another” defending their idols. Certainly, it is normal that the speeches of the world leaders are discussed. But the saddest thing is that they are discussed not driven from our – Armenia’s interests but in the perspective of which superpower is better, the righteous and the just.
I am confident that this question is totally wrong and in the case of superpowers – doubly wrong. Here, despite all the nice words, only one right operates – the right of the powerful. In the 21st century, this “power” is measured primarily by economic potentials. The US excels Russia in economic potential several times, and the Americans can do what they want in much bigger territories of the world than Russia. The latter has a few number of countries left to “plough and sow”, including ours. Because of the same economic differences, the United States has no motivation to go to a “new Yalta” as Russia would like.
Therefore, the dispute about who is “sweeter and kinder” is scholastic. But the problem is that both sides have enough resources to hire staff commentators and “status-posters”. They say that one of the Russian camp offices is located in the village of Olgino, not far from Moscow. The staff there at times is also writing Armenian comment that all the “liberasts” should be executed by shooting. As to where exactly the American “olgins” are, it is hard to say. But I assume that it is their Armenian “branch” that in a particular form distorts the surname of the president of Russia.
