September 30,2015 17:45

“The current ordinary citizen of Turkey or a tie-wearing Turk has not done anything to me, but all Armenians will carry the genetic memory. It’s a pain that hits half of the Armenian nation. It is a terrible tragedy, which we feel hundred years later,” said the Borodin String Quartet’s first violinist Ruben Aharonian, today, at the meeting with the journalists. Recall that the famous Quartet concert will take place under the 9th International Yerevan Festival dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Ruben Aharonian noted that the Quartet will also perform concerts in Turkey, the last concert was this year. “Turkish audience tries not to touch upon the topic of Genocide. I do not know what is going on in Turk’s soul, I do not care, but the genocide lives in the soul of Armenians,” said the musician. He also noted that the Armenian audience in Turkey has long ago changed the family name and is “just living.”
