During the autumn plenary sessions of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE), the Azerbaijanis regularly speculates the question allegedly Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia periodically hamper PACE delegates Robert Voltaire and Milica Marković to conduct an evidence¬-finding mission. In an interview with Aravot.am, the head of the Armenian delegation to PACE, Hermine Naghdalyan, yesterday notified that at the PACE Political Affairs Committee, when the preparations for the presentation of the report on Nagorno-Karabakh were made, Voltaire expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that he was not able to visit NKR until now. Meanwhile, Hermine Naghdalyan claimed that the rapporteur has applied to the NKR authorities just a week ago in the event when he had time for one year.
Aravot.am was interested to learn from the NKR President’s press Secretary David Babayan about the stance of the Artsakh authorities regarding Voltaire’s visit, and when the answer to his letter would be clear. Mr. Babayan replied that their posture has not changed on this matter and detailed, “If he does not change the title of the report and does not review its philosophy, then what he can talk about. We have repeatedly said about what kind of report we want it to be. We do not want it to be a one-sided report if there is no objectivity in this report, this is already a major issue for the same Europe as the subjective reports do not serve anything.” Mr. Babayan informed that the response to Voltaire’s letter is being discussed, and NKR Foreign Ministry will notify about it in the near future. David Babayan considers it reasonable that Azerbaijan should have speculated this issue, as for the report, he noted that “most probably it was prepared in Azerbaijan and the report smells caviar.”
Ani Sargsyan, NKR Foreign Ministry press secretary, told Aravot.am the following: “We have received Voltaire’s application and it is under consideration.”
