Because of the bombings by Azerbaijan, no harvest was carried out on 23 hectares of vineyards on “Uri Hogher” (Land of Uri), village Aygehovit, Ijevan region. Aygehovit village mayor Levon Grigoryan informed that the bombed vineyards are privatized by 43 Aygehovit residents. According to him, these vineyards were expected to collect at least 150 tons of grapes. L. Grigoryan said that they will wait a few more days and then will apply to Tavush governor’s office to give a state compensation to the owners of these vineyards.
Twelve out of all owners of these vineyards have a grape-submission agreements with the Berd branch of the Yerevan Brandy Factory, the rest were supposed to give their crops to Ijevan, Aygepar and Debedavan factories. During the grape harvest at the “Uri Hogher”, on September 15, a resident of Aygehovit, Baghram Aharonyan’s “VAZ-2106” car was completely burnt down by Azerbaijani bombardments, on September 17, in the same area, a resident of Aygehovit Station district, Arthur Tamrazyan’s “Nissan” make car greatly suffered from the Azerbaijani sniper shot. We learned from Aygehovit that just opposite the “Uri Hogher” area located in the lower part of the village, Azerbaijanis are reiterating anti-Armenian campaign text with loudspeakers. In the recorded text, Azerbaijanis announce in Armenian-language that they will not allow harvesting, Armenians have occupied the Azerbaijani lands and so on.
Mayor Grigoryan confirmed the truth, adding that the Azerbaijani campaign does not affect his fellow villagers as they are living in an everyday war over 25 years. He said that the Azerbaijani propaganda is an evidence of their desperate situation, saying, “The bear is screaming of its own fear.” To add that the Azerbaijani side is also carrying out an anti-Armenian campaign in the bordering Barekamavan village, Noyemberyan region. The Armenian soldiers defending the positions of Barekamavan have heard an Azerbaijani campaign in Armenian language last year and this year. Via loudspeakers, they have called on the Armenia border guards to leave the positions and pass to the Azerbaijan’s territory. Azeris were even giving a deadline to cross the border, which was 3 days.
