The “golden fund” of the “Metsamor” Historical-Archeological Museum-Reserve has been updated. The repositories are changed to make the display of items more impressive. This was told to Aravot.am by the Deputy Director on scientific works of the “Service For The Protection Of Historical Environment And Cultural Museum Reservations” SNCO, also an archaeologist, Ashot Piliposyan. “The golden items excavated from the Metsamor archaeological site are unique for the region. I think that any visitor seeing the golden fund is leaving impressed,” he said. Among the gold findings, the hairpin in very interesting, which was found from “Kura-Araks” vault. “It is the oldest in Armenia, end of 4th millennium BC and early 3rd millennium. At this stage, our ancestors already had the skill of making gold objects,” said Piliposyan. As for the samples with an image of a lion, these are parts of a silver belt. To add that the exhibition is open to all visitors. Earlier, we had already informed that recently the replenished exhibition of the Museum is opened, , which includes the best findings excavated in the Mestamor archeological site on the last 50 years.
