At the Loft self-development and entertainment center, there was an unusual stir, they were going to meet with another cultural figure. One could guess from the empty bottles piled on the piano who he is. Prior to the guest’s arrival, a young man voiced, “a small soldier” … everything was clear, today’s hero is Arto Tunjboyajian, the founder of Armenian navy band, the famous master of drumming instruments. Among the guests, there were also pianist Vardan Hovsepyan and cellist Artyom Manukyan, who act as a trio with Tunjboyajian. First, the musicians passed path achievements were introduced. After trying the sound of the microphone thru the “technology of blowing into the bottle”, Arto Tunjboyajian modestly did not address the achievements, saying: “There is no benefiting in the art, the art is not sports. Creating like the time has no boundaries.”
The trio was created three years ago when the musicians were in the United States. “After the test playing in Los Angeles, we realized that we need to collaborate. We release records since last year. Recently, we played at the Berlin Festival,” said Artyom Manukyan. He has performed in London and recently played with Stevie Wonder. “He had come to drink coffee and wanted to play with us. There is nothing more,” said Artyom, referring to the exaggerated comments appeared in the social networks.
One of the participants at the meeting asked why Arto Tunjboyajian does not give a concert at the Sports-Concert Complex. “We can play even in the WC, we can play for one person the way we would play for one million people. But it requires organizing. We cannot sit and wait to organizing a concert at the Sports Complex,” he replied. Speaking about an Armenian image and the love for the homeland, the musician said, “There can be no patriotism with a remote control. Conscience, love, truth, service to the homeland. These are the features of an Armenian. It is now and what will happen later, we should leave the homeland for the bugaboos and that’s it…” To add that the trio of talented musicians will have concerts in Armenia on December.
