This is a world first, Armenian, Jewish and Assyrian-Chaldean communities met Monday, October 12, in the mythical Folies Bergère theater, to evoke the centennial of the Armenian Genocide and the Jewish Holocaust.
Many French artists and Armenian and Jewish origin have graciously lent their support to this exceptional evening in front of 2,000 spectators and many personalities of French politics.
The “highlight” of the evening of fraternity has been providing blind singer Gilbert Montagné when he sang in the Armenian language “Anapati Arev” (Tata Simonian) to an audience standing electrified.
The evening sponsored by Charles Aznavour with a production by Jacques Couzouyan and partnership ANACRA, CRIF CCAF and ASI… presented the actress Isabelle Sadoyan, Michel Legrand, humorists Popek and Michel Boujenah. Also André Manoukian, Levon Minassian, Enrico Macias who sang “Yerevan” in Armenian, and French star Michel Fugain.
