The renowned America-based pianist Sofya Melikyan is in Armenia. On October 21, she will perform with Spain-based violinist Zohrab Tadevosyan at the Khachaturian International Festival. They will perform the works composed by Strauss and Schubert. Since Sofya Melikyan’s husband is also a musician, Aravot.am asked the pianist half-joking and half-serious whether the peaceful “coexistence” of the two musicians under one roof is not difficult. “My husband is a jazz musician and we are living a very quiet life as our genres are different. Although we understand and respect each other’s schedules. We both travel a lot, and as we have a little baby, it’s hard to travel with her, so we are working on finding optimal outcomes,” said Sofya Melikyan.
