Chronicle of foretold revolutions

October 22,2015 13:09

At the time when in the fall of 1917, the great revolutionary specialist Vladimir Ulyanov was lost in the thoughts about when he is planning to have the revolution, “yesterday it was early, tomorrow it will be too late,” and so on, his comrades-in-arms Zinovyev and Kamenev openly declared in the October 18 edition of Mensheviks’ “New Life” newspaper that the coup, which they were considering an adventurism, will take place in the next few days. Lenin, of course, was resentful against his friends and considered the revelation of the party programs a treason, but later he forgave them probably because even the Provisional Government was unable to prevent the earlier declared revolution, and on October 25, that is to say, a week later, “Aurora” announced the Bolsheviks’ “Triumph”. But is it a fact that announcing the day of the coup in advance is not quite a right move in terms of the tactics.

The Armenian rebellions do not fully take the Leninist experience of revolution into account and over 23 years, with the aim of “getting rid of the criminal regime a day earlier”, always keeping the public informed about when it will happen. I have already had the opportunity to remind that the foundation for this practice was laid by Ashot Manucharyan, who in the summer of 1994, during the rally, announced not only the day but also the hour of the regime change. But if by saying a “regime”, the NDU, ARF and Manucharyan mean Levon Ter-Petrosyan, then they “got rid of them” only 3.5 years later, due to which, the “regime”, in my opinion, became much more “criminal”.

Over 23 years, the radical oppositions, in spite of the alphabet of revolutionary struggle, inform the public of their coup plans, saying that the regime change will take place next fall, next spring, this month, next month and so on. Certainly, it’s not just said, so pointlessly. First, people need to know when their carefree and prosperous life is going to begin. And then, it is also a psychological pressure on the government, which, presumably, should be in a “panic”. But the negative consequences are more, there is no coup, the government “taking good care of people” is not coming, and people get equally disappointed in everyone.

Recently, the baton of announced revolution in advance is passed to Zhirayr Sefilyan’s tram. The motto at the beginning of this year was “100th anniversary without the regime,” in other words, the revolution will take place before April 24 or on the same day. Ahead to April 24, this group was arrested illegally for not to prevent the 100th-anniversary events, and later they were released. Now, a new deadline is set, December 1. I wonder, what are they going to say afterwards?

… Gabriel Garcia Marquez has a novella, which is called “Chronicle of a Death Foretold”. It is exactly the opposite in this novella, all the heroes are doing everything to avoid the occurrences from happening, but are helpless, it is a fate.
