His appointment to the new position is exaggerated
Recently, the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council approved the assumption of the Chairmanship of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board, according to which, as defined, this position will be passed from Russia to the representative of the Republic of Armenia since 1 February 2016. The President of Armenia has nominated the former Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, whose candidacy was supported by the Russian President Vladimir Putin. The point that Armenia’s representative will be the head of this Board, no one does us a favor thereby. The term of office of the current Head in the face of Khristenko has expired, rotation takes place every 4 years, now it is our turn by the alphabetical order. Four years later, a new head of the Board will be appointed from Belarus.
It seems to me that a formal structure by the name “Eurasian Economic Union” will remain for a long time like there is a club of several leaders of the state for 24 years, which is called a “CIS”. To the point, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, by the way, recently has said a couple of “sweet” and just words about it in Kazakhstan. The Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU) will not greater practical significance that today’s Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The talks about a common currency, in my opinion, are unsubstantiated. During the next 5 years, it is generally impossible, but even afterwards the possibility is low. Therefore, it is strongly doubtful that Tigran Sargsyan will have a special mission as a Head of the EaEU Board. I am also not sure that the Ambassador of Armenia to the USA is less important position than the “international official” of a structure existing mainly on the paper.
Tigran Sargsyan has not displayed himself good in the position of the Prime Minister of Armenia. We can talk about his merits or demerits, but the work appraisal of a government leader are the officially published economic indicators, which were unsatisfactory in recent years. His economic and “cultural-civilization” contradictions with the Armenian local oligarchy are obvious. But these discrepancies do not mean that the angels are on the one side and the monsters on the other side. All together are representatives of a rotten and corrupt system. What comes to the “offshore”, “Nairit” and other similar stories, then I do not know, as they say, “I was not holding a candle.” Such intentional moves could have happened, but it is only one piece of the aforementioned system.

Why just Tigran Sargsyan is nominated for the position of the Head of the EaEU “executive body”. There is probably no big secret here too. It should someone whom Putin knew and with whom EaEU initiator has mutual work experience. The other candidates would probably have generated more questions. No matter the position is a “sinecure,” in all cases, the name of it “sounds very proud,” and it is impossible to do anything on this issue without Putin. Is Tigran Sargsyan a pro-European or a pro-Eurasian? It is generally not a problem. Until September 3, 2013, Armenia was going to sign the EU Association Agreement, later, it turned out that the Russians are angry and jealous on this, and we turned over to the Customs Union. Tigran Sargsyan was initially working in the direction of the EU, and after September 3, in the direction of the EaEU. Bringing charges against Armenia’s prime minister for the change of the situation, I think, is not fair.
…What remains to the vacant position of the US Ambassador, to tell the truth, I know who the best candidate is for it. But the candidate is unlikely to pass.
