“The co-chairs should make it clear about who is an aggressor and even a terrorist.”

October 29,2015 15:30

Yesterday, shelling was registered by Azerbaijan at the moment when the OSCE Minsk Group mediators were implementing an observation mission in Karabakh-Azerbaijani border. At the end of the observation mission, shots were fired from the Azerbaijani side. In the evening, the Minsk Group American co-chair James Warlick addressed the incident noting that it is inadmissible. In the meantime, James Warlick made it clear that the shots were coming from the Azerbaijani side. To the question of Aravot.am about what kind of statements should be expected from the co-chairs after all this, the RPA faction leader Vahram Baghdasaryan said that after the latest events, in his assessment, the approach of the co-chairing countries has been changed. “Until then, an equality sign was put: Armenia-Azerbaijan, border violations, aggressors and so on. An equality was put between the two countries. We were not bothered about it and we were constantly calling and urging for conducting relevant researches and remove this equality sign and see to who are the aggressors and who are the terrorists because the recent acts can also be attributed as terroristic.”

Our interlocutor means the shootings over the civilians. According to him, the urges of the Armenian side seems to reach the target and the co-chairs’ visit was no coincidence. He notes that in the recent speeches at the international tribune, the co-chairs aim their aggression against Azerbaijan. What for the occurrence, according to our interlocutor, it was probably a protest action by Azerbaijani aimed at the co-chairs’ visit to Nagorno-Karabakh. “This will not remain unanswered. In the near future, I think, we will witness.”
