On February 12 this year, RA President Serzh Sargsyan questioned the entrepreneur, PAP the then leader Gagik Tsarukyan’s being a conscientious taxpayer. During the PAP active practice, when organizing rallies with the parliamentary trio and making calls for regime change, Serzh Sargsyan had announced, “Over the years, the unconfirmed rumors on unpaid billions of taxes and the billions stolen from the pension of the elderlies and the right of the students to be educated under the name of a minor, the so-called, “charity” continue to remain suspended. I urge the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia to instruct relevant authorities to inspect the authenticity of this rumor to the end and thoroughly and openly present to everyone.”
This statement was followed by tax inspections at the facilities owned by Tsarukyan family, later, Tsarukyan announced that he is withdrawing from the PAP party and the politics. Yesterday, Finance Minister Gagik Khachatryan assured that inspections are underway in 7 facilities owned by Tsarukyan, in 6 of which the works are completed and particularly, no large-scale violations are detected. Incidentally, Khachatryan ruled out the possibility that these inspections and the results thereof are driven by political factors. “In all cases, a political factor is hidden, explicitly or implicitly. It is natural that generally, there would be a struggle for the power and naturally, no need to be surprised.
Throughout the history of humanity, there is a boundless struggle for the power, a terrible fight, and naturally, drive by this, in the face of Gagik Tsarukyan, in the face of the then “Prosperous Armenia”, there were threats on the seizure of the power. The current authorities demonstrated such an approach that as a result they at least temporarily maintained their power”, – such opinion was expressed by Vardan Bostanjyan, in an interview with Aravot.am, referring to the situation created around Tsarukyan: the inspection of facilities, not identifying any major violations and Serzh Sargsyan’s statement. Bostanjan also said that for example, the President of the Union of Armenians of Russia – Ara Abrahamyan, the owner of the “Tashir Group” – Samvel Karapetyan and Ruben Vardanyan are powerful guys, who can cause unsteadiness and beget political movements.
To the question of Aravot.am that if Gagik Tsarukyan’s facilities were working “clean” and Tsarukyan was a conscientious taxpayers, so why he stepped back and withdraw from the politics, Bostanjyan said, “I’m not their lawyer, let it not appear that they have found a naïve that speaks like a fool.”
