Armenia plans to establish a German Gymnasium

November 27,2015 13:00

Armenia plans to establish a German-depth education gymnasium. Aravot.am learned about this from the Minister of Education and Science. “Using our already available experience, we have offered our German colleagues to implement this idea the way they did it for the French Lyceum and as they have planned to do for Chinese school. The proposal aroused great interest. In the near future, it will be discussed and an appropriate decision will be made,” informed Ashotyan. He said that the implementation of the idea requires the financial resources. It is expected that the German authorities will give a positive response. “Parallel to the Armenian curriculum at the Gymnasium, German language in-depth courses will be conducted, which also includes a study of German history and culture. And in high school, as the law permits, some subjects may be taught in German. The graduates will also receive an international certificate of proficiency in German, a German certificate of graduation and without additional exams they will be able to be accepted to German universities,” said Armen Ashotyan, introducing the idea of the functionality of the Gymnasium.
