On December 6, during the protest of the “New Armenia” public salvation camp, protesters Artush Chibukhchyan, Aram Manukyan, Vahe Baghdasaryan, Maxim Sargsyan, Tigran Mazmanyan, Arsen Chachoyan, Michael Nazaryan and Karo Ghukasyan were detained. Aram Manukyan told Aravot.am that at the moment of detention, they were on the sidewalk, the police officers without presenting any legal claim detained them. “We had not allowed us any illegal activities. There is a video recording where they immediately attacked us and detained us to the Central Department of Police.”
He said that at the police department they were just told that they were detained under Article 182 of the Administrative Code (Willfully disobeying the lawful order or demand of the police officer or a soldier). “It does not correspond with the reality, because if they apply with a legitimate demand, then it becomes audible, we have not heard of such a demand. And no one was introduced and no one has presented any ground, they immediately attacked and detained us.”
