“We need to realize at least one thing, what we are doing, we are doing for ourselves. We must learn to live with our own problems or for find solutions to them rather than waiting that someone will come, expect him to say something or not”, – said the “Heritage” faction MP Tevan Poghosyan, in response to the question of Aravot.am, referring to the statement issued yesterday by the US Embassy to Armenia regarding the referendum on constitutional amendments held on 6 December. “In accordance with the U.S. commitment to fighting corruption worldwide, the U.S. Embassy can also draw upon the information contained in such reports to help assess whether any individuals who directly interfered in the integrity of the December 6 electoral process can participate in Embassy programs or activities,” reads the statement.
Tevan Poghosyan believes that we need to raise the issue in front of the US Embassy building that they have implemented various projects in Armenia over twenty years and, in fact, ineffective. “What is the main lesson that they have learned that their projects do not provide results or fruit? The can issue statements but we need to be aware of what we need and what country we want to build or wait for someone to come and make a statement or not. I am glad that the countries are concerned and want to see Armenian prosper, but at the same time, this issue should be raised, how much you contributed when implementing the projects that have not yielded any results,” he said, adding that each state is guided by its own interests and Armenia should not be an exception here.
