On December 17, during the public hearings at the village of Tekali, Marneuli region, Georgia, in his report, Azeri political scientist Ahmad Alili, referring to the Karabakh conflict settlement, noted, “There is no progress after the 2011 Kazan meeting (Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev). The Kazan meeting at one point was a psychological culmination, of which everybody had great expectations. But nothing worked out. After this meeting, it was announced that the sides agreed to continue in that direction. In 2011, after the Kazan meeting, Azerbaijani side made such a statement, no meeting will be held only for meeting.
It was the moment of breaking off the diplomatic settlement, which was followed by the diplomatic crisis. Speaking about the Azerbaijani society … the war for the society is seen as the next round. They are doing their best to return all of this back to the diplomatic settlement.” Azerbaijani political analyst A. Alili applauds the active involvement of the civil society in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict settlement process, which, in his opinion, will enable to find an exit from the critical situation.
