Democracy according to Poles and Armenians

January 16,2016 19:18

Not only the Poles but also Warsaw’s central station screens installed not only in Poland but also foreign tourists leaving for other European countries have the chance to watch the live broadcast and videos of multi-thousand protests for the sake of freedom of speech and anti-government organized in different cities of Poland on the screens installed in central stations in Warsaw. The protests against the constitutional violations, human rights and restriction of freedom were held under the flags of Poland and the European Union, “Enough to ruin democracy”, “Law and Justice have no authority” and other similar chanting.

The recent protests were aimed at the new Polish law on mass media. We surprisingly stated that the voice of Poles’ protest reaches the most public places of the capital of Poland while it is very impossible to imagine such a thing in Armenia. Hardly, a video about the opposition protest would be screened in any metro station or in any square of Yerevan while the screens installed in the central parts of Yerevan, at the best, show videos with the participation of the government representatives or episodes from their participation in the celebration of Yerevan Day.
