ARF failed to do changes neither inside nor outside the coalition

January 20,2016 17:00

“History is repeated, what the previous coalitions gave, so this coalition will give, in other words, nothing,” such opinion was expressed by Vice-Chairman of the “Heritage” party Armen Martirosyan referring to the possible ARF and RPA coalition.

Note that the ARF party, as reported by “Liberty” radio station, has “principally” accepted the RPA’s offer to make a part of the ruling coalition.

“Our state and our country need substantial changes and such merging: coalition and non-coalition, do not give anything. Nothing changes in terms of the content. I remember Vahan Hovhannisyan once withdrawing from the coalition said, “We tried to change from the inside, nothing worked out, therefore we came out to try to change from outside.” Therefore, now, perhaps, nothing has been changed for them from the outside, they are going again to the coalition,” said Armen Martirosyan.

According to him, the ARF’s move starting from the process of constitutional reforms was logical, “Since the year before the last, they were going in another direction. But the name is not important whether it is a coalition or a cooperation, an “opposition” or a constructive opposition, the essence of the power or the quality of the governance does not change. If we really want a change, then there should be a contextual change.”

 Karen Kocharyan

ARF’s decision to join the coalition was not new for the political technologist Karen Kocharyan, “During the referendum of the constitutional amendment, it was already clear that the processes have started long ago. I think that the ARF withdrew from the coalition because of the Armenian-Turkish protocols, which it announced while this issue has been removed from the agenda long ago, ARF was long ago ready to return to the coalition. Since then, when the issue of the Armenian-Turkish protocols was removed from the agenda, the ARF has never had a problem with the government authorities.”

To the question of what we can expect from the new possible coalition, the political technologist could not answer, “I’m not Nostradamus, everything is possible depending on what task they have set forward. They still keel silent about it, as soon as they announce, then we will talk.”
