“On September 3, 2013, Serzh Sargsyan’s statement after the two-hour meeting with Vladimir Putin caused a problem in the relations with our foreign political partners. Irrespective to the talks about the black caviar and petrodollars, actually they can work when there is a favorable condition for it,” said Vice-Chairman of the “Heritage” political party, Armen Martirosyan, in an interview with Aravot.am, referring to the anti-Armenian resolutions entered into the agenda of the forthcoming PACE session.
Along with not accepting the working activities by the Member of the Republican Party of Armenia and, particularly, Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly and the head of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Hermine Naghdalyan, Mr. Martirosyan thinks that it is not right to cast all the blame on her. “These are moves against the state rather than against Ms. Naghdalyan. Obviously, this move against Armenia is the punishment of what Serzh Sargsyan did. He negotiated with the Europeans for 4 years, created an opportunity for the recognition of the rigged elections and, roughly speaking, betrayed them. These resolutions are part of it.” noted Armen Martirosyan.
Today, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs issued a statement in which they remind the PACE that the OSCE Minsk Group is the only format of the negotiations for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement and call on not to complicate the process. In this regard, the Vice-Chairman of the “Heritage” party said that if the Minsk Group issues such a statement, it means that the situation is extremely complex “and it is obvious here that the authorities had nothing to do other than to “involve” the OSCE Co-Chairs into the fight. I think it will have an effect but what it is decided in the PACE will be known in these few days. I cannot say that this admonishment would have such a big scope for the resolutions not to be passed. Generally, as a rule, if the resolution has passed to the PACE Political Committee plenary session, it will be accepted”.
