On February 19, the U.S. Embassy in Armenia officially presented the Armenian edition of the How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas by David Bornstein at the Yerevan American Corner. The U.S. Embassy partnered with Antares Media Holding for the translation and publication of the Armenian edition of this book, which encourages people to find innovative solutions to a wide variety of social and economic problems through social entrepreneurship, in order to further support the promotion of entrepreneurship in Armenia.

In his remarks at the launch ceremony, U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Clark Price noted that, “Entrepreneurship is about individuals improving their lives and their communities through personal initiative, good ideas, hard work, and a little bit of luck. … This book tells stories of social entrepreneurs who advanced systemic solutions to major social problems they faced in their countries. The stories in this book are not about markets, or sustainability, or efficiency. They are stories of people who could not bear to watch others suffer, people who could not stand to see others missing opportunities they should have had.”

The U.S. Embassy selected David Bornstein’s How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas as part of an ongoing initiative to make more American books available to the Armenian public that might not be translated into Armenian otherwise.

1000 copies of the book will be distributed to local schools, universities, NGOs, and libraries. Copies will also be available at our American Corners, located in Yerevan, Charentsavan, Kapan, Gyumri, and Vanadzor.
