A Museum of Typography will be opened at the building of the National Library of Armenia on May. Aravot.am learned about this from the library director Tigran Zargaryan. The museum will exhibit the history of typography centers created since 1512 and the distinguished in this industry. “Until the Soviet period, we did not have a statehood and our printing was carried out mainly in Europe and the Middle East,” said Zargaryan. In his words, exclusive items will be exhibited in the museum, “We have acquired a wooden Chinese “Clichés” at the auction, which Chinese were using to do woodcarving printing. A table-chair-ladder (three in one) will also be on display. In other words, you can make a ladder, get on it to pick up a book, then sit on it and read. We also have a 100-year-old printing machine. What seems usual for us today very quickly becomes a history. Thus, the printing old and big machines disappeared. We managed to find two such machines.”
