How will the new map of the world be traced?

Depends on the fate of the Great Britain

“It is clear that the withdrawal of the Great Britain from the EU would weaken the EU, many things will change in the world but the worst consequence would be for the UK. Scotland, I think, will immediately withdraw from the staff of the UK and with this move, the UK will do harm to itself. Many people perhaps do not remember today that the referendum held in Scotland with the withdrawal from the staff of the Great Britain had a negative outcome for one reason: the majority of voters said that they want to see Scotland remain part of the UK for one reason: the Great Britain is a member of the EU. In other words, if the Great Britain withdraws from the EU, Scotland will also withdraw from the UK and this country will collapse” – said Chairman of “Globalization and Regional Cooperation” NGO, political analyst Stepan Grigoryan, in an interview with “Aravot.am”.

Note that this year, the Great Britain will hold a referendum on June 23 regarding staying in the European Union. Recently, the Prime Minister of the Great Britain, David Cameron, said in Brussels that the citizens of the Great Britain should make a decision of historic significance. An agreement is reached at the EU summit in Brussels, according to which, the Great Britain would have a “special status” in the European Union and have never put into circulation the European Union currency – the euro.

Cameron stated that he and his government members are in favor of the option of staying in the European Union with these terms. “Great Britain is a huge country, a serious country and there are many traditions here. This country’s economy with its capacities ranks the 3rd and the 4th in the world. It is one of the world’s financial centers but withdrawing from the EU, the geopolitical situation will change, which, not in the least, is in favor of the Great Britain. Besides Scotland, certain processes will also develop in the Northern Ireland,” says our interlocutor.

The political analyst is confident that based on his mentioned concerns that the EU has recently given enough privileges to the Great Britain, have made compromises. He believes that the UK Government will also take preventive measures but since they have mostly adopted and displayed populist stance for quite a long time, and strong and the separatist mechanisms in this country are quite strong, there are even certain traditions formed, it is not excluded that the population of the country, nevertheless, will vote “for”. In this case, the political analyst does not ignore the interests of geopolitical centers. “Russia is one of the centers too. The moves by the authorities of this country obvious show that they are eager to see the EU weakened because they consider that the European Union is one of their main enemies. If you have noticed, Russia is displaying quite a serious support to the political forces of various European countries who have separatist sentiments and are against the EU and the European integration.

We see this in Hungary and the Czech Republic. Such forces also exist in the old Europe and the United States, represented by US presidential candidate Donald Trump. All of this are not accidental. Russia worked quite seriously in various European countries. In the same Great Britain, for example, there are deputies who are collecting signatures for lifting sanctions against Russia, even if the issues in Ukraine are not resolved,” said Stepan Grigoryan, adding that many people do not pay serious attention to such things, even ignoring. Meanwhile, Russia shows a big financial support to such politicians and forces, and it is not excluded that the processes would begin to develop from a moment with not a favorable scenario for Europe.
