No one already doubts that the March 1 opposition is going to hold a rally. Because it cannot but do. For several reasons. Firstly, it is the unique day when today’s opposition manages to gather people in Liberty Square. Secondly, everyone realizes and understands that we are obligated to respect the March 1 victims. And we have no right to forget that infamous day. And we do not forget.
It is horrible of course that the coming of the spring and the first day will be always connected with the painful memory of this horrible day. October 27 and March 1 are the shame and memories imposed on us by the fate. And even if you want it very much, we cannot forget, and every year on March 1, instead of celebrating the coming of the spring and the awakening of nature, we have to and in despair remember and mark this all-nation tragedy and misfortune.
Hrant Bagratyan’s hopes that prior to the upcoming parliamentary elections, Armenia’s opposition parties and figures must unite and form an alliance would hardly be justified because if our opposition parties are unable to unite and organize a joint rally on the anniversary of March 1, hardly they can find a common language with each other during the elections and reach a common consensus. Each of them wants, to put it bluntly, to associate March 1 with them, and to put it more strictly, to collect scores from this horrible reality. While, on the rests of the days, each of them forgets March 1 successfully.
I personally also find it hard to say what and how they should remember. I just want to say that they should not make March 1 a reason to discredit each other and be engaged in self-advertising. But actually, they make it.

On this background and the most terrible and the most difficult thing in all of this are the condition and mental state of the relatives of the victims of March 1. They cannot decide whom to rely on and believe from the opposition forces. Or, with whom to demand justice. Or, from whom to demand justice. Their hope, as the last hope of many-many suffered citizens of Armenia, is the European legal institutions. If the European institutions begin dealing with March 1 matter, our opponents will enliven at once and will begin recalling fragments and details from March 1, which currently are neglected and forgotten.
The same applies to the terror and tragedy of October 27. If the foreigners decide and begin detailing the events associated with October 27, the memory of the opposition and all of us will enliven at once. As for March 1, we should all go out to the street on this day and chant: “We are all victims of the March 1”, just like the best citizens of Turkey are chanting on the Hrant Dink Memorial Day, “We are all Hrant Dink.”
Because there was an instruction to kill people on March 1 in Yerevan. Incidentally, to kill without selection. In other words, each of us could be in the place of each of the March 1 victims.
