The Armenian Committee of Solidarity with Maidan urges the international community, particularly, the European Union, EU Member States, and the United States to promptly take effective measures
– up to urgent expansion of the sanctions – for the immediate release of the Deputy of the Ukrainian Supreme (Verkhovna) Rada of the eighth convocation, member of the permanent delegation of Ukraine to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Nadya Savchenko, who is illegally kept in detention in the Russian Federation;
– condemn the actions of Russia and initiate criminal investigation into the capture of Nadya Savchenko from a sovereign territory of Ukraine and her forcible detention since June of 2014;
– establish an international committee for the liberation of Nadya Savchenko that will include: doctors, human rights activists, influential public and political figures, who will continuously monitor the health condition and the progress of the illegal trial against Nadya Savchenko and inform the international community; bring to the competent Russian authorities the requirement of her immediate release without any preconditions.
