On March 20-24, “Montserrat golden voice” international competition will be kicked off in the city of Lloret de Mar, Spain, where Gyumri resident lyrical soprano Leonora (Arevik Tanashian) will represent our country. As the singer told in an interview with Aravot.am, she is going to participate first time in this competition by two nominations: spiritual and classical. As for what works will be performed, the singer does not want to make it public. Note that for a long time Arevik Tanashian’s husband, a Lebanese-Armenian Vigen Tanashian, who is her producer was looking for sponsors to participate in this competition but no one from our country wished to support the singer. He attended by the support of a Diaspora Armenian.

We read in Arevik Tanashian’s Facebook page, “My joy is boundless when the Diaspora Armenian appeared again and once again sponsored the whole amount to participate in the international competition. The support that he did not receive from Armenian was received from our Diaspora-Armenian sponsor, for which I am grateful and promise one more winning to our county with the sponsorship of the Diaspora.” Note that Arevik Tanashian has always brought a “Grand Prix” to our country by participating in various international competitions. Only last year, the singer won four “Grand Prix” last year at the “Grand Prix 2015” International Competition held in Bulgarian capital Sofia on September 13-17, which was attended by the best singers from 10 countries: Italy, Spain, Ukraine, Serbia, Romania, and our opera singer was awarded a “Grand Prix”. Similarly, she won “Grand Prix” at the “Caucasian Championship”, Polish singer and pop star “Wiktoria 2015” International Competition named after Anna Herman in Warsaw. Arevik Tanashian won the next “Grand Prix” at the “Winter Fairy Tale” contest held in Pyatigorsk, Russian. The singer gave a solo concert last year in Iran’s third largest city, Isfahan, which was dedicated to the centenary of the Armenian Genocide and was the commemoration of the destructive earthquake in Spitak.
