The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has removed Azerbaijan from the regional anti-doping organization of Eastern Europe. From February 5 to 7, seven countries of this organization will first time attend the Executive Committee session of the Regional Anti-Doping Organization of Eastern Europe to be held in Tsakhkadzor because by the decision the of World Anti-Doping Agency, Azerbaijan is no longer a member of this organization. In this respect, the head of the Anti-Doping Agency of Armenia, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Areg Hovhannisyan said to Aravot.am, “The issue has been matured long ago and the decision was expected. In January this year, it was announced at the conference of regional anti-doping organizations held in Thailand that there are countries in these organizations that do not fully perform their duties, so WADA decides to get rid of these countries.”
