Aravot.am asked Mikael Aramyan, the Chairman of “Against Violation of Law” NGO, what kind of tortures the Armenian soldiers had suffered by the Azerbaijani side. Mr. Aramyan said that the details of such information are not only true but also incorrect to publicize, “They have extradited our soldiers in a very bad shape. The 21 missing, of which three of them were returned during the ceasefire and eighteen are now in amputated condition, we have still not found one soldier.
The probability is high that he is dead but as he is not detected, we cannot say anything. These tortures by Azerbaijan are the proof of their barbaric condition, they do not reckon with any international norm, they ignore the assumed commitments and have no deal with human image. The Armenian side has returned the Azerbaijani corpses in a proper condition. We are already preparing materials to bring the Azerbaijanis to accountability for these violations, let’s see which instance it will go.” To our question of whether the soldiers were amputated alive or after death, the expert said that after the completion of the investigation they will be able to say, at this point, they have no conclusions.
