I think no one has any illusions that this was Azerbaijan’s last attack on Artsakh, in days, weeks or months, there would be a new and more powerful attack. There is almost no doubt that a tension will arise also in Armenia’s borders. I hope no one expects that Russia, European countries and the United States will not lift a finger to prevent or condemn this subsequent attack; they will come up with a call addressed to “all parties” to cease the fire.
Consequently, our only hope can be the internal mobilization. Not only the army whose fighters’ heroism was once again proven but also the whole society in Armenia and all Armenians around the world. Do not be surprised but I think that the foundation of this consolidations should be our – the Armenians – benevolent and tolerant attitude, eliminating the pus and poison from our mists and giving up the aspiration of self-affirmation by defaming someone. Each one of us is upset with someone for something but today, it is not the moment to express this personal upset, let us temporarily forget about it.
About corruptionists and embezzlers. Certainly, to gather political scores and to appear a “courageous opposition”, we can talk about the “dispossession of the kulaks” and “nationalism”. But firstly, they are talks articulated “in the air”, secondly, they lead to an undesirable escalation of the internal political struggle at this point, where it is not clear what words are said driven from the interests of the national and which ones from strictly personal and gang interests. The public, certainly, must continue to scourge these “personages” by demanding from them a respectful attitude to the citizens. They should also realize that their every stolen penny is a life of one soldier. Let them try to live with this conscience.
Mobilization also means that everyone is doing his job in his place, in good faith, honestly and dedicated. It is not necessary for everybody to go to Artsakh and deal God knows with what. The teacher – in the classroom, the doctor – at the hospital, the scientist – in his laboratory, each of them should conform their actions to the behavior and thinking of the hero soldier standing in the frontline. The frontline in the 21st century is not only the Armenian-Azerbaijani border or the Nagorno-Karabakh – Armenia line of contact but also the task of each of us, where the failure causes a direct damage to our soldiers.
