Aravot.am asked famous jazzman Vahagn Hayrapetyan whether the jazz concerts will make Russia sober, even though with the help of his jazzman friends living in Russia to urge Russian authorities to stop the sale of weapons to aggressor Azerbaijan. In response to our question, the popular jazzman said, “Art generally plays a peaceful role, art is a peace-bringing phenomenon, I do not think that an art-loving person can provoke such an aggressive war.

I do not know what Russia thinks at this point but certainly it is not desirable to sell arms at the expense of the lives of our soldiers. We lost a lot of young guys, the number of war-born children aged 18-20.” Note that yesterday, in the evening, at the Dramatic Theater after Vardan Achemyan in Gyumri, at the concert of jazz virtuosi – the world-famous Armenian jazz musician Sergey Manukyan, Vahagn Hayrapetyan, Lauren Rubin who arrived from France – commemorated all our heroes martyred in the Artsakh war and dedicated a jazz performance to their memory. While Moscow-based Sergey Hayrapetyan said, “The Armenian nation is immortal, invincible, take care of each other and this will be our victory.”
