We, the Armenians, have recently become very upset of the whole world. We have the reason, of course, but after living and buzzing with excitement for 10 days, it is worthy perhaps to slightly “cool off” and assess the situation soberly.
Yes, this is Russia’s politics, this country gives a “get’em!” command to people against each other, arms them both, makes them fight against each other in order to maintain its influence over both of them. All the empires behave accordingly over the centuries. Will these politics be changed because of our being upset? Of course, we must make them understand that we know about this politics but by the posture of an offended child would bring no benefit. Our state and society should build their own behavior driven by the fact of this politics and without expecting a separate “allied” zealousness from this country. Nazarbayev, yes, should not have demonstrated his Turkish or Islamic solidarity at the expense of the EaEU (allegedly, a purely economic union). It was worth saying it but no need to make far-reaching conclusions about Kazakhstan and especially the EaEU. If there is an option, it would be good to leave this organization at all but Nazarbayev has nothing to do here.
Similarly, we are dissatisfied with Europe, the United States, Israel and others. Being upset of the world, which of our affairs do we advance? It is more effective, I think, to focus our glance on the domestic problems given all these external realities.
According to the report of the current year by the “Reporters without Borders” (RSF) prestigious organization, we (ranks 74th) are head of Italy (ranks 77th) on the freedom of the press, not to mention the various sultanates. Frankly speaking, I have some doubts about being freer than Italy or Greece (ranks 89th) (regarding the Asian states, including the neighboring “Sultanates”, I am confident) but in all cases, it is pleasant. However, in this case, let us be compared not by the states but by the indicators of our country in other fields. What place does Armenia rank by the level of corruption, by the volume of monopolies in the economy, by the percent of emigrants each year, by the lack of confidence in the election results? Some of these indicators are measurable while the other part perhaps is hard to determine by academic standards but in these matters, we definitely cannot compete with EU states as according to RSF we do with the freedom of the press.

It seems that I have deviated from the subject but in reality, I am still there. For we need to have a solid rear to continue the resistance in the battlefield and in diplomacy. And being “solid” in our case is to be several rungs higher than our neighbors, both in economic development paces and democratic.
In this respect, we can also iterate numerous bombastic, populist and pathetic words. But it seems that their time is also in the past.
