Co-chair of the selection committee of the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity, Hollywood celebrity, George Clooney, during the Aurora Awards ceremony held on April 24 in Yerevan, said in excitement that though he is without a drink but he would like to toast to the organizers of the award ceremony: Ruben Vardanian, Nubar Afeyan and Vartan Gregorian. “Your deed is exceptional and if we had awarded prize award in any other place, we would probably award you. I am proud of you,” Clooney said. He stressed that atrocity underlies in the bases of the Armenian genocide, a earmarked extermination of an entire nation, “This happened to the Armenian people 101 years ago and we see its continuation in different parts of the world. But at the same time, I have also seen bravery and kindness, and today, we honor the best examples of it.” He also cited Hitler’s words, “Hitler once reportedly said, “Who remembers Armenia?” and here’s the answer, “The whole world.”
